Debt Counsiling is About Counseling People with a Debt Problem

Debt counsiling is incorrectly spelt and I am going to assume that you are looking to find out some information about debt counseling because you have a debt problem.

In this day and age, very few people haven’t got a debt problem so there is no shame in this. Because you are here and looking to find out more information means that you are already half way to solving your personal crises. Well done you!

Having more debt than income is a problem. If you don’t do something about this problem, it can become a very real crisis in your life with debt collectors knocking on your door or receiving very unpleasant phone calls.  Debt counsiling can help you through this if you tackle the problem before you get put over to a debt collector. Once you get listed with a debt collecting agency, life gets harder. Debt collectors aren’t known for their philanthropic or humanitarian tendencies.

Also, once you get listed with a debt collecting agency, this information gets put onto a national database of bad debtors and your credit rating will go down even further because it will be placed as another entry for bad debt against your name over and above whatever the credit reporting has already filed against your name. These debt defaulter entries into this national database for bad debtors will follow you all the rest of your life.

The interesting thing is that this personal credit record is close to the only record anywhere of your life and no matter if you change addresses, this record will still find you.  Aside from anything else like having a good credit rating and all the advantages this will bring you, your listing in this national database of bad debtors will always remain and stay with you. It is a record of your financial life. People can’t live today without money.

A good debt counsilor (counselor) will be able to guide you through this minefield of legalities and hopefully, lessen the damage to your name. But a debt counselor can only guide you as it is up to you to adopt their advice and abide by whatever agreements they may be able to make on your behalf.

Debt counsiling won’t fix your debt problems they can only advise and assist you in what needs to be done. It is up to you to do “the doing”.
